In July 2010 we were contacted by our client regarding installation of new windows at his property at no 6 Plewlands Terrace.
He had been unhappy with his previous window contractor who had replaced the windows to the upper floor and Edinburgh Sash and Case undertook the replacement of the windows on the ground floor. The original windows had previously been removed and replaced with UPVC windows.
The project required manufacturing of three new double glazed sash and case windows for the bay window, and a single window for the front bedroom.
Plewlands Terrace is part of the Plewlands Conservation Area, so we took our profiles and proportions for the new windows from some of the original windows in the same street.
Our wood machinists then matched the exact style and mouldings. The traditional style was further enhanced by the use of new, high quality, ironmongery and sash bars.
The new windows were sealed and primed in our workshop, and our painting team finished them off with final coats of paint on- site. They then applied traditional stone coloured sand mastic to the join between the stone and the window to complete the project.
“I was very happy with the tradesmen – very considerate, worked hard and made sure that they completed the job even though it was way past 7pm!!
The windows I have got are fantastic! Really pleased and I would definitely use them again. We had sash and case windows previously from another company; Edinburgh sash andcase provided us with a complete consultative service and made sure that I was able to make an informed decision. Incredibly tidy, you wouldn’t think they had been there.”
